Deenal School is a Private Montessori Preschool situated at Alagomeji, Yaba, Lagos. We offer services for children aged 3 months to 5 years. We are committed to creating a safe, warm, loving environment where children can learn and grow physically, emotionally, creatively, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. At Deenal school, we recognize that a child’s first six years of development is of crucial importance because according to Dr. Maria Montessori, ‘’it is during this time that the child’s power of absorption is highest and where lifelong attitudes and patterns of learning are formed’’. This is why we have put in place a carefully planned and structured environment where the child’s needs can be met. The atmosphere of our environment promotes learning, independent thinking and self-control. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum centers on age appropriate materials and activities that develop control, order, concentration and independence.  It addresses the needs of the ‘’whole” child as it offers children opportunities to develop their skills and potential through the daily use of the Montessori materials in all the curriculum areas. We aim to nurture children that will step out into the world as engaged, competent, respectful and responsible citizens. Our classrooms are carefully prepared and designed to facilitate the development of children’s independence and sense of empowerment. They are well equipped with diverse and self- correcting Montessori materials. Children are encouraged to work individually with the guidance of a Montessori directress and as part of a group as older ones act as mentors and role models to the younger ones. They are given freedom within limits to choose their work and use the materials in meaningful ways. We have qualified teachers and care givers who are trained in child development and in the Montessori approach.  Part of their role is to offer age appropriate activities; guide and observe each child’s capability, curiosity, creativity and cooperation in order for the child to reach his or her maximum potential. We value each child as a unique individual because we recognize that children learn in different ways and at different pace. At Deenal School our goals include:

  • To give every child the attention they need while promoting a love for learning, sense of independence and self-confidence.
  • To foster inner security and curiosity; develop initiative, concentration, and persistence.
  • To sustain positive interaction, and compassion for others.
  • To build a strong foundation for future growth in an inclusive environment.

Our mission is to provide a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for young children and help every individual child to be confident, knowledgeable, independent, responsible and productive citizens of their community.

Our vision is to produce great innovative achievers, by inspiring curiosity, independence, and a life-long love of learning. With our Montessori Curriculum we develop the children’s self-esteem and problem solving skills, while fostering respect for themselves and people around them.
